Supporters seek justice for the family dog police say was beaten and killed

The details are difficult to read for many people.
A 24-year-old Princeton man is in jail, accused of beating and torturing a family dog multiple times before eventually killing it – and recording much of it, the Princeton Union Eagle reports.
The dog, named Draco, was 3-4 years old.
anthony sather draco dogThat man – Anthony Sather (seen at right) – was arrested Jan. 5 and is currently being held on $250,000 bail, the Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office says.
He’s charged with one count of animal torture in connection with the videos. There are drug possession charges against him as well.
Since the arrest and charges came out, thousands have rallied around the dog’s family.
A Facebook page called #JusticeForDraco has about 4,700 likes as of Friday morning. They’re working on getting a petition together.
And if you want to see what Draco was like, a tribute video with clips of the pup running around and hanging out wasposted to YouTube.
The Star Tribune has details from the charges, as does the Union Eagle, with the criminal complaint explaining how the videos show Sather violently beating the dog, and appearing to enjoy doing it. Note that the charges may be disturbing to read.
The dog’s death occurred in October, authorities say, but weren’t revealed until December when Sather’s then-girlfriend found the videos on his computer and forwarded them to the Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office.
The woman is reportedly the daughter of the dog’s owner.
On the Facebook video, she says she placed Draco’s favorite toy in his grave next to him.
